I love these beautiful pelicans. They glide silently overhead like blimps. I don’t know what the smaller is that trails this beauty.
Most of my work is, well, all in my head. I’m reading, writing, analyzing, interviewing, and meeting with people. Sometimes, I spend nine or ten hours without even leaving the fourth floor of my office building.
This osprey was beautiful. We saw its nest, with young chicks in it, too!
I’m very focused, and I get a lot done. But at the end of the day, I’m mentally worn out but physically I’ve really done very little. This can is unbalanced, and I can best address it by spending time outside.
It was early evening, but the bird is still getting the worm. There’s probably hungry young ones somewhere begging for more.
But aimless wandering around is boring to me. So I take a camera and look for beauty wherever I am. These pictures were taken recently at Barr Lake, Colorado. I hope you enjoy looking as much as I enjoyed being outside taking them!
I come to Barr Lake because it is a known habitat for great blue herons and white pelicans!Once settled on the tree, this heron is no doubt checking out the fish in the shallow waters below. This group of mule deer knew they were safe and sound. They were totally unthreatened by our presence coming and going.
Amazing pictures. Like you, nature also helps to ground me and bring me to a state of calm. You obviously live in an awesome place where you can shoot all of these pictures.
I absolutely love Colorado, I have to admit. It’s easy to take beautiful pictures when the subjects are so pretty. It was much harder in the barren area where I grew up! Good to hear from you again. I hope you’re enjoying life back east.
We do seem blessed with lots of beautiful sunsets here. I was also a fan of the deer with huge ears. I live in a beautiful place! I hope that you and Daisy are finally getting some pain-free summer days to relax and enjoy life!
Yes, it is a wonderful place! We have to make the most of our short summer here, and I’m lucky to live close to a city with the right job — with access to nature very near.

I love the photo! In where I live we hardly have chances to get this close to the Nature and the photos you took are really comforting!
